Leeds United were among the sides looking to sign Eddie Nketiah this summer. The Athletic claims the Whites Leeds were keen to bring him back to Elland Road after a loan spell with the club in their Championship winning season.
Nketiah looked set to leave the Emirates this summer after a lack of game time but is now on the verge of signing a new deal with Arsenal. The England youth international enjoyed a run of games up for Mikel Arteta's side towards the end of the campaign.
Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Borussia Monchengladbach had also shown an interest in the player, but the report claims he's set to sign a £100,000 per-week contract with the Gunners. It's no secret that Jesse Marsch's side need additions at the top end of the pitch, given Rodrigo's struggles and Patrick Bamford's injury woes.

The head coach made Leeds tougher to beat towards the end of the campaign but they struggled to score goals. The arrival of Brenden Aaronson will provide another option up front, but the Whites are in the market for a striker.
Speculation has seen them linked with a move for Morgan Gibbs-White amid talks that Kalvin Phillips may leave the club this summer. He would seemingly be a direct replacement, but Leeds have also lodged an enquiry for Manchester United's James Garner, according to reports.
