Joe Gelhardt and Wilfried Gnonto will feature for Leeds United U21s this evening at Tranmere Rovers. The Whites are in Merseyside to open their Papa John’s Trophy campaign and Michael Skubala has named an extremely strong side for the clash.
Gelhardt missed out on selection on Sunday for the first-team clash against Aston Villa at Elland Road and as a result he’s dropped down to the U21s to pick up some much-needed match minutes this evening. He’ll be part of a fearsome attacking line-up with Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Gnonto also involved.
Gnonto is still waiting to make his first-team debut for the Whites, but he’s fresh from appearing twice on international duty with Italy and he’ll be keen to impress Jesse Marsch this evening. Sam Greenwood drops down from the senior fold, while Cody Drameh makes a second appearance in the youth side in five days.
