Joel Robles will make his first appearance in a Leeds United shirt this evening as the club’s U21s against Bolton Wanderers in the Papa John’s Trophy. The Whites have the opportunity to seal their progression to the knockout stages tonight and Michael Skubala has made five changes from their Premier League 2 win over Sunderland last week.
Robles joined the club in the summer transfer window and he hasn’t featured for the club at any level so far. He starts for the young Whites tonight, though, behind what is a young side.
James Debayo steps into what is a reshuffled back line, with Kris Moore moving to left-back in place of the injured Harvey Sutcliffe. Alfie McCalmont partners Darko Gyabi in the middle of the park, while Sean McGurk starts on the left since the Whites saw off Stoke City in York last month.
Charlie Allen starts in the number 10 role, with Sonny Perkins on the right-hand side of the field, while Mateo Joseph leads the line.
Max Dean returns to the bench, while under-18s skipper Cian Coleman is also in the squad, fresh from his goal against Manchester City U18s at the weekend.
