Michael Skubala has named an unchanged Leeds United U21s side to take on Sunderland this evening at the Stadium of Light. Joe Gelhardt steps back down into the youth ranks after making a short appearance off the bench in the Premier League on Sunday at Crystal Palace.
The striker scored two goals against Tranmere Rovers last Tuesday and he’ll be keen to impress as he picks up some more valuable minutes with Skubala’s side. Wilfried Gnonto will also be involved this evening as he continues to wait for his first-team debut and he’ll be hoping to notch up his first goal for the club.
Sonny Perkins and Darko Gyabi start for the Whites, while the competition’s joint-top scorer Mateo Joseph starts up front. Joseph has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Division 2 player of the month award and he’ll be keen to notch up his ninth goal in the league.
