Georginio Rutter will start for Leeds United U21s this evening as the young Whites take on Aston Villa at Elland Road. Leeds haven’t won a Premier League 2 Division 2 contest since November but they can move back to the top of the table with a win in front of their home support.
Rutter only joined the club last month, making the switch from Hoffenheim for a club record fee, but he has struggled for form and minutes in the first-team. As such, he has dropped down to the U21s side and he’ll hope to use the clash to build-up some confidence, fitness and traction.
With some key first-team games coming up, too, he’ll be determined to catch the eye and show he deserves to play more of a key role in the coming weeks and months. Michal Pujdak, who is in charge of the youth side while Michael Skubala is with the first-team, has also been able to call on Brenden Aaronson, who has had a bit part role to play in recent weeks.
