Leeds United U21s team news as Cody Drameh drops down to face Stoke City

Michael Skubala has named a much-changed Leeds United U21s side to face Stoke City this evening at the LNER Community Stadium in York. Cody Drameh will be the most senior man in the side, dropping out of the first-team starting XI and into the Under-21s side and he’ll start at right-back this evening.

He’ll be keen to send a message to Jesse Marsch, too, as he battles for a spot at right-back alongside Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling. Sonny Perkins has scored 11 goals in his last eight games for club and country and he’ll be keen to continue his purple patch this evening against the Potters.

The forward is fresh from representing England Under-19s in Denmark over the international break, alongside Darko Gyabi, who also starts. Mateo Joseph hasn’t scored since the draw with Norwich City last month and he’ll be looking to get back amongst the goals this evening.

Morten Spencer makes his first appearance in Skubala’s 21s side this evening, while Alfie McCalmont, Sean McGurk and Charlie Allen return to the starting line-up, too. There’s no Archie Gray this evening after the midfielder suffered a fractured toe over the international break.

Leeds are currently at the top of the Premier League 2 Division 2 table and three points this evening will be enough to keep them there until next week, at least.

Leeds United U21s XI: Harry Christy; Cody Drameh, Harvey Sutcliffe, Kris Moore, Alfie McCalmont, Darko Gyabi, Morten Spencer, Charlie Allen, Sean McGurk, Mateo Joseph, Sonny Perkins.

Bench: Will Brook, Amari Miller, Joe Snowdon, Max Dean, Cian Coleman
