Leeds United U21s player ratings as Mateo Joseph steals show again in victory at Middlesbrough

Kristoffer Klaesson: Struggled with the conditions at times. Let an effort slip through his grasps in the first half and he probably could have done more to prevent Boro’s second. 5

Cody Drameh: Another decent performance on the right of Leeds’ back line. Carried the ball well, didn’t take risks and looked comfortable. 7

Kris Moore: Had a decent battle with Gibson down his edge in the first half before stepping inside. A mature performance. 7

Morten Spencer: Battled with Calum Kavanagh and struggled at times. 6

James Debayo: Looked the part in the first half and was called into action on a couple of occasions, hooking the ball off the line at one point. He was taken off at the break after being booked. 7

Darko Gyabi: Struggled to get a foothold of the game and was replaced at half-time. 6

Charlie Allen: Got off to a strong start and used the ball well. Dropped back to left-back in the second half and looked comfortable once more. 7

Mateo Joseph: Showed glimpses of his talent in the first half but came alive in the second. He bagged his third hat-trick of the season with three tidy finishes. 9

Sonny Perkins: Had a role in Joseph’s first just after the break and got involved with the Boro backline. 7

Wilfried Gnonto: Looked someway short of his best. 5

Alfie McCalmont: Hit the woodwork on the stroke of half-time, but struggled to get a foothold in the game. 7

Sean McGurk (Gnonto 46): Helped to change the game in the second half and took his goal beautifully, curling the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box. 8

Joseph Snowdon (Gyabi 46): Like McGurk, he helped to change the game after the break and left Middlesbrough with two assists. 8

Amari Miller (Debayo 46): Entered the field at the break and tried hard but couldn’t make as big an impact on the game as others. 7

Max Dean (Perkins 82): Came on too late to make a massive impact on the game. N/A

Subs not used: Harry Christy.
