Leeds United transfer target tipped to follow in Jude Bellingham's footsteps with similar impact

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson is convinced Birmingham City youngster George Hall could follow in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and "make an immediate impact" at the highest level. Hall continues to be strongly linked with a move to Elland Road.

England international Bellingham also came through the Blues academy much like Hall. There's only a year separating the two players.

Hall has enjoyed a flurry of substitute appearances for Birmingham so far this season, scoring once and contributing an assist. While Blues manager John Eustace insists Hall is going nowhere in January, it's expected that the 18-year-old will swap St Andrew's for Elland Road by the end of the window if the bid is good enough.

Hall has also made appearances for the Three Lions Under-19s squad in their qualification campaign for the UEFA Euro U-19 Championship, scoring against Denmark U19s in a 4-2 win while grabbing himself an assist in a 2-0 win over Montenegro.

After consistently impressive performances at such a young age, it's no surprise Robinson has compared the impact he could have and his potential under a youth-loving manager like Jesse Marsch to someone of Bellingham's stature - who himself was arguably England's best performing player at the World Cup over the winter break.

"Birmingham have got a good record of producing young players and Jude Bellingham is a perfect example of it," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

"If you look at his age and what Bellingham is doing, he’s having an impact [in senior football] so yes, while they’d be signing Hall for the future, you’d also want him to potentially make an immediate impact as well."

It's believed that the Whites are close to landing Hall's signature even before the window has opened. There will no doubt be extensive negotiations between both sides as they try to work out a deal.

If Leeds do manage to secure Hall, then he'll be joining a Leeds roster that is brimming with potential as fans have already seen this season with the likes of Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood all paying back Marsch's trust in them in the weeks leading up to the winter break.
