Leeds 'favourites' to sign Ounahi
An Italian reporter has claimed Leeds are leading the race to sign Moroccan maestro Azzedine Ounahi. A creative player, the 22-year-old exploded onto the scene at the World Cup.
His performances helped Morocco emerge as dark horses and reach the semi-final, before losing to eventual runners-up France. Serie A leaders Napoli are also reportedly showing interest but, according to Ciro Venerato, the Whites are favourites to sign the midfielder.

“As regards the Napoli transfer market, we can say that Leeds are in pole position for the Moroccan Azzedine Ounahi," he said. "The English club have offered £22million to Angers and £2million to the player, higher figures than those offered by Napoli.”
Forest to pip Leeds and Arsenal
Nottingham Forest are expected to complete a deal for Brazilian youngster Danilo. Various reports suggest the 21-year-old will arrive in England for a medical ahead of a £20million move.
Earlier this week, Italian outlet CalcioMercato named Leeds and Arsenal among the Premier League clubs interested in the midfielder. Danilo made almost 150 appearances for Palmeiras since making his debut in September 2020.
Money expert gives Leeds warning
Football financial expert Kieran Maguire believes Leeds would need to expand Elland Road to compete with rival Premier League clubs. As it stands, the Whites’ iconic ground holds just under 38,000, placing it 11th in the top flight.
Leeds are one of the most well-supported clubs in England but earn a fraction in matchday revenue compared to other teams. Maguire told The Price of Football podcast : “We know Leeds could easily play in front of more than 50,000. It’s a one-city club with a one-city vibe about it and where’s the money coming from to upgrade?
“For a club like Leeds, its matchday income is probably in the tens of millions compared to Manchester United, who make £110million in ticket sales. Spurs make over £100million, and Arsenal, if they’re in the Champions League, will make over £100million.
“If Leeds want to compete on the pitch then they need to be able to compete off it especially if we move to a new form of FFP which is based on income and wages as opposed to the rules we have at present.”
