Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Monday, 1 August.
Paul Robinson claims Leeds United need to bring in competition for Illan Meslier
Former Leeds United shotstopper Paul Robinson believes Leeds United must bring in competition for first choice keeper Illan Meslier ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. Leeds released Kiko Casilla last weekend, leaving them with just 22-year-old Meslier and 21-year-old Kristoffer Klaesson on their books.
While Meslier has performed admirably in his two years at Elland Road, there's no doubt Leeds could do with adding an experienced back-up to the Frenchman. It would give Meslier someone to compete with, as well as help him hone his craft. And Robinson believes adding an experienced head would allow Meslier to kick-on to reach even greater heights.
"Leeds have to bring in a more experienced goalkeeper now to play alongside Meslier, someone who he can learn from every day," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
"He also needs someone to push him and keep him on his toes. Regardless of whether Kiko went or not, he was surplus to requirements and they need that number two in."
Che Adams name re-emerges in Leeds United's search for new striker
Leeds United have been re-linked with Southampton striker Che Adams as the Whites continue their search for a new striker.
The 26-year-old had been previously linked with a move to Elland Road back in 2020. Now the Sun are reporting Leeds would like to sign the Scotland international for around £10m. However, there have been conflicting reports when it comes to the Whites interest in Adams.
While the Sun claim Leeds are interested in signing Adams, the Athletic report the Southampton forward is not currently one of the Whites priorities this summer.
Lewis Bate set for loan move away from Elland Road
Leeds United teenager Lewis Bate looks set to be on the move to the Football League this summer. The Athletic report that while the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Archie Gray will all feature in Jesse Marsch's first team plans, 19-year-old Bate will likely leave Leeds on loan.
The hope would be to get Bate valuable first team minutes in the EFL so the Whites can re-assess his future next summer.
