Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites show 'concrete' interest in Benfica left-back

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Saturday, February 18.

Alejandro Grimaldo 'concrete' interest

Leeds have shown 'concrete' interest in Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo, according to a report from Football Insider.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the Stadio da Luz at the end of the season and there is growing uncertainty over his future.

A number of top clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are monitoring his situation, with Italian giants Juventus believed to be among those interested.

Leeds opted not to sign a left-back during the January transfer window. Pascal Struijk filled the role expertly at the start of the season but has failed to maintain his impressive form after the World Cup.

Junior Firpo has been restored to the starting XI in recent weeks, while Max Wober is capable of playing left-back, despite forming a promising central defensive partnership with Robin Koch.

Nevertheless, the left-back position remains a problematic area for Leeds. Grimaldo spent his youth career at FC Barcelona before switching to Benfica in 2016.

He has scored 24 goals and provided 58 assists in 286 appearances for the Portuguese giants - winning eight major trophies, including three league titles.

Charles de Ketelaere sale claims

Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb have claimed that AC Milan are 'convinced' they will need to sell former Leeds target Charles De Ketelaere in the summer.

Leeds entered a two-horse race with AC Milan back in the summer, with De Ketelaere choosing the defending Serie A champions over a move to Elland Road despite the Whites submitting a superior offer.

However, the Belgian international has failed to 'live up to expectations' at the San Siro, and the report adds that the possibility of a sale is becoming more and more likely.

De Ketelaere is yet to find the net for Milan in 26 games across all competitions and has started just once in Serie A since the World Cup break.

Giannis Konstantelias setback

Leeds and Arsenal are reportedly poised to miss out on the talented PAOK attacking midfielder Giannis Konstantelias.

That is according to Tuttomercatoweb, who have reported that AC Milan are in talks to sign the £17 million-rated starlet.

The report adds that Milan's technical director and legendary former defender Paolo Maldini has already held talks with PAOK sporting director Jose Boto.

Milan are reportedly ready to make a bid of £9 million, although PAOK value the Greek forward, who has previously been linked with Leeds, at £17 million.
