Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites links to left-back Kai Wagner reemerge

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, 27 December.

Leeds United reportedly interested in signing Philadelphia Union defender Kai Wagner

Leeds United are said to be keen on landing Philadelphia Union full-back Kai Wagner in the January transfer window.

The Whites have just one senior left-back in their squad in Junior Firpo, who has rarely featured this season due to injury.

Firpo's injuries have meant centre-back Pascal Struijk has had to serve as a make-shift left-back for most of the season so far.

According to the Athletic's Phil Hay, Wagner, who was a summer target for the Whites, is someone Leeds are looking into signing in January.

Writing in his Athletic column, Hay wrote: "Despite being 25, Philadelphia Union’s Kai Wagner is one option they are looking at — a defender who is yet to appear in a major European league and has plenty of miles left in the tank. A fee to get him from the 2022 MLS runners-up would be likely to fall in the low millions."

Championship duo join race to sign Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh

Burnley and Watford are both reportedly interested in signing Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh.

The defender, who wants first-team minutes, had previously been linked to Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming their interest.

And now Drameh is being subject to interest from Burnley and Watford, two of the Championship's top sides.

According to the Athletic, both the Clarets and Hornets have enquired about the 21-year-old who could be headed for the door at Elland Road next month.

Drameh impressed last term in the Championship with Cardiff City but has seen his minutes this season limited by Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling.

With both Burnley and Watford chasing promotion, a move to either one for Drameh in January could see him help them earn a spot in the top flight next season which would guarantee him Premier League football.
