Premier League rivals join race for Lang
Leeds now have company in their mooted pursuit of Club Brugge forward Noa Lang. The Whites have been tracking the Dutch talent for a number of months but have yet to make formal enquiries.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal are now after the 22-year-old, who has scored eight and assisted 12 goals this season.
Club Brugge are reportedly holding out for £20m for the youngster with three years still left on his contract.
However, the source says if Leeds get relegated, then a deal of any kind would be off.
Bielsa turned down January signings - Giles
Leeds great John Giles has claimed that Marcelo Bielsa turned down the chance to sign personnel the club wanted to recruit during the Winter window.
Despite his squad being injury-stricken, Bielsa made no January signings. The decision later was questioned by some as player knocks continued to mount up.
Now, Giles - who played more than 380 games for Leeds, winning the 1972 FA Cup and two First Division titles - has stated that the club were in the market for players despite the lack of arrivals.
Speaking to Off The Ball, the 81-year-old said: “I heard that Bielsa turned down players that they wanted to bring in.
“But the thing is, were they his players that he wanted? The Director of Football may have said ‘I’m going to bring Joe Bloggs in’, and he might not have wanted him.”
He added: “The fact is that they got nobody to replace those players at the time. If Liverpool had three players missing, they have cover, but Leeds don’t have any cover.”
Radrizzani approached over wanted man
Several reports have been claiming that new Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has targeted fellow American Brenden Aaronson as his first signing this summer.
However, the Daily Star reports Marsch has gone a step further and approached chairman Andrea Radrizzani himself to state his keenness to bring in the US international.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been an integral part of Red Bull Salzburg’s progression to the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
His five goals and nine assists across all competitions this season has certainly pricked the ears of a number of European managers.
Marsch will be confident his countryman connections will see an Elland Road deal get over the line this summer where Bielsa failed to in January.
