Leeds United ready to emerge as 'an option' for Real Madrid youngster's exit
Leeds United have reportedly emerged as an option for Real Madrid youngster Raúl Asencio to make his exit from Los Blancos in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old has risen quickly through the ranks at the Spanish giant's academy and joined RSC Internacional, Madrid's reserve team, at the start of the season.
His displays for them this season has caught the attention of the Whites, as well as fellow La Liga side Espanyol, according to Spanish outlet BernabeuDigital.
An exit for Asencio could be on the cards, although it might be tough for the Whites to pry him away from such a historical team such as Madrid, who are expected to bring him into the senior fold sooner rather than later.
Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray makes Joe Gelhardt 'bring back' claim
Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has claimed that he'd like to keep Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt at the Stadium of Light for next season 'if possible'.
The 20-year-old has netted three times and found two assists in his 16 appearances for the Black Cats since leaving Elland Road on loan in the January transfer window.
"If it [bringing back Gelhardt] was a possibility it's something... but there are a lot of things in the way," Mowbray told Chronicle Live earlier this week.
"I would assume that young Gelhardt would want to go back to his parent club, wherever they're going, and play games, get a feel - the kid doesn't even know what league they're going to be in at this moment, when you look at the bottom of the Premier League. We all like him.
"For next year, that's Leeds' call and the player's call, but I've enjoyed working with him because as we all see, there have been days when it hasn't gone to plan for him, but he's still worked and chased and fought and you can never knock a player who does that for you."
