Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Friday, 9 September 2022.
Salzburg striker
Leeds United are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor, according to Calcio Mercato Web. They claim that the Whites are battling Champions League sides Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.
Okafor has found the net five times in all competitions already this season after scoring 14 goals last term. Leeds signed two of Okafor’s teammates during the summer with both Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen making the switch to Elland Road.
Leeds eye Scottish youngster
Leeds United are reportedly hot on the heels of Aberdeen youngster Lewis Pirie after they watched him in a Scotland U-16s international fixture against Denmark, according to the Daily Record. Pirie scored and was involved in the build-up for the penalty awarded to Jack Fletcher - son of former Manchester United midfielder Darren - in the Scots' 4-2 loss to the Danes.

Seen as one of the most talented players coming through the Aberdeen ranks, Pirie is one of many that, in recent seasons, have broken through the ranks alongside the likes of Liverpool star Calvin Ramsay, who was sold for £4.2m.
Leeds were not the only team that were scouting the youngster however, with fellow Premier League side Fulham also in attendance amongst others.
Mata to join Galatasaray
Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is set to sign a one-year deal at Turkish side Galatasaray, according to Fabrizio Romano. Mata was linked with a move to Leeds United during the summer with Spanish outlets suggesting he and Victor Orta were in talks.
That said, Romano insists that Mata was never close to moving to Elland Road following his release at Old Trafford during the summer.
