Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites and Liverpool send scouts to watch Birmingham City star

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Wednesday, April 5.

Leeds United and Liverpool 'send scouts' to watch Birmingham City star

Leeds United and Liverpool reportedly sent scouts to watch Birmingham City star George Hall in action during their 1-0 over Blackburn Rovers.

According to the Mail Online, Leeds are long-term admirers of the 18-year-old midfielder as they look to fend off other interest from clubs in Germany and Italy. Premier League rivals Liverpool are also thought to be interested in Hall after they too allegedly sent club representatives to keep tabs on his performance against Blackburn.

Birmingham manager John Eustace was full of praise for Hall after his role in the 1-0 win, saying: "George Hall was awesome. I went and watched Hall play for England [U19s] on Tuesday [against Turkey] and he was the stand-out performer, but we have got three of four outstanding 18-year-olds here at Birmingham and unfortunately for me, they all play in the same position so it's difficult to give them the minutes they want."

And now it seems that Leeds are interested in tempting Hall to Elland Road as they look to bolster their midfield options for next term ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Jose Mourinho ponders Diego Llorente swap deal

Elsewhere, Italian outlet AS Roma Live are reporting that Jose Mourinho is weighing up the possibility of a swap deal with Leeds United for Diego Llorente.

Llorente joined the Serie A side on loan in the January window and after struggling initially, he caught the eye of Mourinho during an impressive 3-0 victory over Sampdoria. Now it is being claimed that the apparent £18million option-to-buy clause for Roma to make the move a permanent one is proving a sticking point.

It is therefore thought that the club are looking to include a possible player plus cash alternative to lower the financial outlay to secure Llorente's services. Which personnel may be involved is still unclear, with Leeds no doubt unwilling to take any Roma castaway without the certainty that they will improve their squad.
