Leeds United transfer rumours as Middlesbrough centre-back linked

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours from across the web.

Middlesbrough centre back linked

Leeds United are said to be one of several Premier League clubs taking a keen interest in Middlesbrough centre back, Dael Fry.

That's according to Football League World, who claim that the 24-year-old is being tracked by Wolves, West Ham, Burnley, Brentford and Southampton as well as the Whites.

Fry has come through the academy at Boro and has already racked up 151 Championship appearances at the Riverside Stadium.

Whilst Leeds are often linked with centre backs, it seems unlikely that they will move for any at this time, given that it is the area of the pitch where they have the most depth. They have four strong starting options in Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk as well as youngsters Charlie Cresswell and Leo Hjelde behind them.

Fee set for Simon - Newcastle favourites due to wages

It emerged late in the January transfer window that Leeds had shown an interest in Nantes' Moses Simon but there was no move for the winger.

Reports state that the French Ligue 1 side are asking for £20million for the 26-year-old but Newcastle are also in the mix for the player.

It is claimed that the Saudi-backed Magpies are the favourites for Simon's signature due to their ability to offer higher wages than Leeds. He is claimed to be asking for £100,000 a week for his next contract and this is not a wage that the Whites would want to sanction other than for a star player.
