Marseille president Pablo Longoria details 'difficult summer' for Bamba Dieng
Marseille's president Pablo Longoria has explained how former Leeds United target Bamba Dieng is coping following a whirlwind summer.
The Senegalese forward looked set to join Leeds on deadline day, only to opt instead to move to Nice from Monaco. Leeds believed the deal for Dieng had been done, with owner Andrea Radrizzani even tweeting a confirmation.
However, while Dieng chose to move to Nice, his transfer fell through after he failed a medical, which meant he had to return to Marseille.

And Longoria believes the 22-year-old forward, who made his first appearance of the season for Marseille in a recent 3-0 win over Angers from the bench, has been through a "very difficult summer".
"We said it since the day he returned [from Nice]; he had a very difficult summer," said Longoria.
"Every time there is a change [in circumstances], you have to adapt. Some players do it right away, others longer. Since what happened on the last day of the transfer window, he has been training very well.
"The natural consequence is that he has found playing time. Afterwards, it is up to the coach to make his decisions."
Leeds United remain interested in PSV forward Cody Gakpo
Leeds United are still interested in landing PSV Eindhoven's Cody Gakpo.
That's according to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton, who claims the Whites are continuing to pursue Gakpo, who is one of Europe's hottest prospects.
The 23-year-old, who has started the new season on fire by scoring eight goals in eight Eredivisie games, has been subject to plenty of interest over the last year.
Leeds were one of a host of clubs chasing Gakpo last summer but the Dutch winger opted to stay with PSV.
And Thornton believes that while Leeds are definitely still interested in the forward, a good World Cup with the Netherlands could scupper any hopes they had of landing Gakpo.
"The problem that Leeds will have is the World Cup, and if he has a really, really good World Cup," Thornton told GIVEMESPORT.
"They tried to get him in the previous window and get the deal done, for whatever reason, it didn’t get done. Leeds are definitely still interested, but it remains to be seen whether that interest means they can get the signing done."
