Here's our Leeds United transfer rumour round-up on Thursday, September 1.
Leeds target Cody Gakpo offers transfer hint ahead of Deadline Day
According to The Athletic, Leeds are still in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo before the transfer window closes tonight with Premier League rivals Southampton also battling hard for the 23-year-old's signature.
However, the Dutchman started PSV's 7-1 Eredivisie victory over FC Volendam on Wednesday evening and captained the side, scoring a hat trick in the process before being substituted to a standing ovation which could prove to be a farewell from the PSV faithful.
Speaking after the match amid the heavy speculation, the forward remained coy when speaking to ESPN, saying: "Whether this was my last match for PSV? I can't answer that. The moment of truth is now upon us. During these hours a decision has to be made.

"Now we have to look closely at what is best for me. What is the chance that I will still play for PSV this weekend? That really depends on the next few hours. I can't answer that now."
His manager Ruud van Nistelrooy added in a separate interview: "We really did everything we could to keep Cody in Eindhoven. He is focused on PSV, still. Still, I can't rule anything out."
Dan James looking to stay at Leeds amid Tottenham interest
Leeds winger Dan James' preference is to remain at Elland Road beyond the transfer window amid interest from Tottenham, according to The Athletic's Phil Hay.
The Leeds correspondent tweeted on Wednesday evening: "Understanding with Dan James is that his preference has been to stay at Leeds but the club haven’t shut the door on him leaving in the way they did with Jack Harrison. One to watch as Leeds go after Gakpo."
It appears as though the Welshman may have to depart if the Yorkshire club look to add Gakpo to their ranks.
Leeds target Hwang unused substitute vs Bournemouth
Reported Leeds target Hee-Chan Hwang was an unused substitute for Wolves on Wednesday evening as they drew 0-0 at Bournemouth.
According to David Ornstein, the Whites saw an informal proposal of £17m rejected by their Premier League rivals with manager Jesse Marsch keen to reunite with his former RB Leipzig player.
