Leeds United transfer rumours as January transfer target given new life under Graham Potter

Here is your Leeds United transfer gossip and rumours on Sunday, October 2.

Leeds Premier League transfer target set for fresh lease on life under new manager

Leeds United transfer target Christian Pulisic is to be given a fresh start at Chelsea by new manager Graham Potter after falling down the pecking order under previous boss Thomas Tuchel.

The American was involved in Chelsea's late winner against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, providing the assist to Conor Gallagher's long-range curling effort.

Pulisic was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer, with Leeds touted as one of the potential teams interested in negotiating a deal in January after the 24-year-old started just 13 games last season.

However, even before the American's involvement in Chelsea's late winner, Potter answered a question about Pulisic's previous form in his pre-match press conference on Friday but revealed that he doesn't judge players based on their past.

"I think players go through periods of their careers where they have to suffer a little bit for whatever reason and don’t get their game time that they would like and it’s part of the job, it’s part of the sign up to being a Premier League player. It’s not straightforward to be a regular in a top-four team.

"I can only comment on him in terms of how he’s been with me. Really positive, he’s an intelligent guy, articulate, knows how to express himself.

"My conversation with him has been good and positive, I’m not going to judge anybody on what has happened in the past, I’m going to make my own mind up. Football hopefully decides."

Leeds United must tie down Jack Harrison amid Premier League interest

Journalist Pete O'Rourke has revealed that Leeds United must tie down Jack Harrison before their Premier League competition get too close to signing him.

The 25-year-old is sure to pump up interest after his good start to the season, especially after interest for his services peaked in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United were one side in particular that showed their interest multiple times, after it was revealed that they'd sent the Whites two offers of over £20 million but both were rejected.

O'Rourke feels that Leeds must try to get Harrison to sign a new deal with the Magpies sniffing around as he told GiveMeSport.

"I think Leeds are going to have to offer him a big deal, especially when you’ve got the likes of Newcastle waiting in the wings, maybe, to try and sign him.

"Money is no object for them as we all know."
