Hearts starlet James Wilson snubs new three year deal to 'join' Leeds United
Leeds United have reportedly fended off competition from Manchester United as well as Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers in order to sign Hearts youngster James Wilson.
The 16-year-old, who has captained Scotland's Under-16's national team as recently as February, was offered a three-year deal to stay with the Scottish Premiership side but looks to have snubbed them for a move to Elland Road according to the Daily Record.
It's believed that Wilson and his family were given a guided tour of the facilities at Thorp Arch as well as the Whites' stadium, and is regarded as one of the best prospects to come out of Scotland in years.
It appears as though Hearts are reluctantly accepting that the deal will go ahead, and will reportedly be compensated with £120,000.
League One chief admits summer transfer interest in Leeds United loanee
Oxford United's Head of Recruitment Ed Waldron has admitted that while the club would love to sign Leeds United loanee Lewis Bate permanently but that they must be realistic about their chances of doing so.
The 20-year-old has been a standout for the U's since his move in August, having netted once and found three assists from his 28 League One matches this season.
But the Oxford chief believes it'll be hard to even resign him on a loan deal because he's worthy of playing in the Championship.
"We’d all love to bring Lewis Bate back, but we have to be realistic with these things," Waldron said on BBC Radio Oxford’s Five Minute Fans Forum.
"I can see Lewis being in the Championship next year so we don’t want to waste the summer chasing him and then not getting him."
