Leeds United transfer rumours as Hakan Calhanoglu reports '100% wide of the mark'

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Saturday, March 4.

Hakan Calhanoglu Leeds' reports '100% wide of the mark'

Reports linking Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to Leeds United are '100% wide of the mark', according to Fabrizio Romano.

Elland Road was touted as a possible destination for Calhanoglu, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, with a starting price of £22 million being reported last week.

The Turkish international has scored three goals and provided six assists in 32 matches across all competitions this season, and Romano has revealed that Inter are close to extending his contract at the San Siro.

Romano tweeted: “Reports of Southampton and Leeds as options for Hakan Çalhanoglu are 100% wide of mark. He’s not going to leave Inter.

“Inter are closing in on the agreement to extend Çalhanoglu’s contract, it’s set to be completed.”

Price tag revealed for Leeds United-linked Konstantinos Mavropanos

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has confirmed that the club have received no offers for former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

German publication Kicker have reported that Nottingham Forest are prepared to pay £17.6 million for the Greece international.

Leeds have also been linked with the 25-year-old, and could enter a transfer battle in the summer, but Forest appear to be the club most interested in securing his signature.

VfB Stuttgart are struggling in their fight to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga, and the likelihood of Mavropanos leaving the Mercedes-Benz Arena will increase if they drop into the second-tier.

However, Wohlgemuth has revealed there have been no offers for the defender to date. "Completely detached from the question of whether we would even be willing to talk in one case or another, there is no official request for either Hiroki Ito or Konstantinos Mavropanos," the Stuttgart chief told BW24.
