Leeds United transfer rumours as former star 'rejects' historic reunion despite struggles

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip on Wednesday, March 29.

Kalvin Phillips 'rejects' Leeds United reunion despite Man City struggles

Leeds United have reportedly failed in convincing former midfielder Kalvin Phillips to make an incredible return to Elland Road after the star told them he wants to remain at Manchester City.

The 27-year-old, who played for the Whites since he was a youngster, made the move to the Etihad Stadium in the summer window but has failed to secure regular minutes under Pep Guardiola due to injuries.

Despite the fact he's made only three starts in his 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season, Phillips seems fine to remain with the Citizens according to TeamTalk.

They report that if anything comes either Phillips or City's way, it'll be outright rejected following claims from the Daily Star earlier this week that the Whites were lining up a swoop for him.

Leeds United 'preparing' £18m summer swoop for Barcelona star

Leeds United are believed to be going back in for Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest after he was reportedly put on the transfer list earlier this week.

The USA international was looked at by the Whites in the last summer transfer window, but no move ever materialised with the club instead opting to bring in Danish star Rasmus Kristensen from Red Bull Salzburg.

It's reported by 90Min that the Spanish giants are looking to 'offload' him for around £18m after he's struggled with injury problems over the past few seasons.

However, Leeds would face serious competition with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Sevilla all interested as well as Premier League rivals Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham.
