Here is the Leeds United transfer rumours and gossip on Thursday, November 24.
Dutch legend claims Leeds United target's price could double after World Cup
Former Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder has said Leeds United-linked Cody Gakpo's price tag could double if he continues to perform at this year's World Cup.
The 23-year-old has already scored once at the tournament, as he broke the deadlock between the Dutch and Senegal in their opening match of Group A earlier this week.
Gakpo was linked with the Whites in the summer transfer window and was even in talks on deadline day of making a move to the Premier League but both sides couldn't come to an agreement.
Speaking to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Sneijder highlighted that if Gakpo finds the back of the net a few more times, teams might have to cough up a lot more than they would've in the summer.
"How much he will raise (for PSV) depends largely on this World Cup. If he scores two or three more here, it could be eighty million euros (£70 million). That’s how it works.
"First he has to finish this World Cup well and then show for another six months at PSV that he really stands out. With his speed and dribbling ability, the English Premier League, where there is a lot of space, suits him best.
"[Gakpo has a] special combination of qualities. I do think he still has steps to take. He’s awfully good, but not consistent enough. There are also phases in the game where he’s not really present.
"Cody needs to get bolder, take balls and say; ‘here I am, give me that ball, I’m going to do it for you’. If you’re just a sweet boy, you won’t make it to the absolute top."
Leeds United linked with La Liga striker following World Cup selection
Leeds United could reportedly turn to Villarreal and Senegal striker Boulaye Dia in a bid to boost their striker ranks.
With first-choice forward Patrick Bamford having failed to score in the Premier League this season amid injury concerns, the goalscoring burden has fallen upon Rodrigo's shoulders at Elland Road.
Despite boasting an impressive record of nine goals in just 13 league outings, the Spaniard is not considered an out-and-out striker and is likely to require support in attack across the second half of the campaign if the Whites are to maintain their threat in front of goal.
