Leeds United transfer rumours as Arsenal consider 'hijacking' Leeds United move for Barcelona teenager

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Friday, March 24.

Arsenal 'consider hijacking' Leeds United move for Barcelona teenager

Arsenal are considering an attempt to hijack Leeds United's move for Barcelona teenager Ilias Akhomach, according to Catalan newspaper SPORT (r/t by HITC).

Leeds are believed to still be in pole position in the race for the 18-year-old, with the report stating that they 'have an advantage' over other clubs.

Sevilla and AC Milan have also been credited with an interest, and now Arsenal are reportedly set to rival Leeds for Akhomach's signature.

It was claimed earlier this month that Leeds had agreed to sign Akhomach on a four-year deal at the end of the season, but his future beyond this season is yet to be finalised.

His contract with Barcelona expires in the summer, and Leeds are among five clubs who have entered negotiations with his representatives.

Leeds-linked Senne Lammens frozen out by Club Brugge

Leeds were reportedly on the verge of signing Club Brugge goalkeeper Senne Lammens in January, but the Belgium Under-21 international stayed put and is running down the final six months of his contract.

However, Lammens, who had previously been second-choice behind former Liverpool and Sunderland stopper Simon Mignolet, has now lost his place in the squad entirely.

He has not played a single minute for Club Brugge this season, but was named on the bench in each of their opening 21 league games.

The recently-sacked Scott Parker signed Josef Bursik from Stoke City in January, and the England under-21 international has moved above Lammens in the pecking order.

Lammens has been left out of the squad for the last 11 league games and has made 10 appearances for Club Brugge's reserve team this season.
