Leeds United transfer rumours as Aberdeen boss addresses speculation and Whites' major Aaronson dilemma

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Saturday, 29 January 2022.

Glass on Ramsay speculation

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass has admitted that the transfer speculation surrounding Calvin Ramsay has affected him.

Leeds United and Bologna are both in the running for the 18-year-old’s signature before Monday’s deadline after his impressive performances for Aberdeen this season.

Glass, though, is confident that Ramsay will still be his player come the end of the window and thinks that his is a major reason why he has struggled to cope with the rumours.

Speaking in a press conference, he said: “I think it has affected him a touch, anyone can see that.

“But we will get to Monday night, I think he will still be with us and he will be ready to tackle the second part of the season with us.

“I am not surprised that it has affected him a little bit, being only 18 and it is the first time he has been through this.

“He will be ready to perform for us tomorrow, and hopefully again on Tuesday and hopefully for the rest of the season.”

Major Leeds transfer dilemma

Leeds United face a major transfer decision on Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson, according to the Daily Mirror’s David Anderson.

The Whites have already submitted two separate bids for Aaronson this month, with the last one totalling £20 million.

But Leeds have had no success in their pursuit of the 21-year-old and now must decide whether to place a third offer or hold on until the summer.

Anderson told Give Me Sport : "So again, it's a conversation that's happening within Leeds at the minute, ‘Do we go higher? Do we end up paying over the odds?’ or even worse still, do we go higher, the bids still rejected, we then say we'll come back in the summer, and then they say, ‘Okay, now we're back to summer, right, let's pick it up again.”

Summerville talks continue

Leeds United and Bundesliga 2 side Hamburg remain locked in talks over a loan move for Crysencio Summerville before the end of the window.

That is according to Bild, via Sport Witness, who claim that phone calls between the two clubs have been continuous in recent days.

Marcelo Bielsa is reluctant to lose Summerville before the end of the window, however Summerville is reported to have grown frustrated at his lack of game time.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino in recent days, which suggests the Whites are keeping their options open.
