A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Wednesday, 21 December.
Leeds United 'target' set to leave current club next month
Ryan Taylor has told his YouTube channel that Dominik Livakovic is set to leave Dinamo Zagreb with Leeds United reportedly among the suitors. The Croatian international was one of the standout performers for his country at the World Cup, finishing third in the competitions after defeating Morocco.
Reports from Media Foot in France have claimed that Leeds are admirers of Livakovic, whose stock has risen drastically given his performances in Qatar.
Taylor said: "Dominik Livakovic, the Croatian goalkeeper, is a player that I’ve been told will be leaving Dinamo Zagreb in January. The Croatian club are resigned to losing the goalkeeper of the tournament really in Qatar.
"He was absolutely phenomenal for Croatia as they reached the semi-finals. I’ve been told by sources close to Dinamo Zagreb that he’s expected to leave in January.”
Jesse Marsch told to use FA Cup as opportunity for fringe players
Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan believes Darko Gyabi could be given an opportunity to show he's ready for first-team action with an FA Cup cameo. The Whites will travel to Cardiff City in the new year with Jesse Marsch looking to reach the latter rounds of the competition.
Whelan told Football Insider: “I think any cup games are a perfect opportunity to give fringe players like Gyabi that game time in a competitive match. That’s how you see how he’s progressing.
“Winning is a good habit, and we want to be successful in cup competitions. So we won’t be throwing a whole new squad out in the game.
“But as long as we can stay in these early rounds of the cup, it gives us a massive opportunity to help the development of these younger players like Gyabi. You’ve got to give them these opportunities. It’s the prime time for their development, and for Jesse Marsch to assess whether they are ready to make that step into the first team.”
Leeds United January target snuffs transfer rumours, insists he's '100% committed' to his club
Leeds United transfer target and Newcastle striker Chris Wood has insisted he is '100% committed' to the Magpies' for the rest of his contract, essentially ending any chance of him joining the Whites next month.
The New Zealand man only swapped Turf Moor for St. James' Park just under a year ago but has fallen down the pecking order under Eddie Howe after impressive showings from Callum Wilson and a reported £70m move for Alexandar Isak.
Wood told the Chronicle Live that he wants to see out the rest of his contract which ends in 2024: "100% - especially with the way the clubs is going, I'd love to be here long-term. Or even longer than I will be.
