Leeds United transfer rumours as Jesse Marsch gives 'green light' over loan deal for striker

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Wednesday, January 17.

MK Dons 'agree Max Dean loan'

Leeds United have signed off on a loan deal for Max Dean to join MK Dons for the remainder of the season, according to Football Insider.

They report that the move is expected to be completed imminently and that the Whites are confident the deal will help the 18-year-old achieve his Premier League potential. Dean looks set to join former Leeds coach Mark Jackson after the 45-year-old was announced as the League One side's new manager before Christmas.

The youngster is still yet to make his senior debut for Leeds but the teenager is highly-regarded by those within the club. A move to the Dons will see him exposed to more game time and can provide the perfect platform for Dean to develop as a footballer.

Leeds 'held talks' with Southampton target

According to Italian outlet Sport Italia, Southampton and Brentford are keeping tabs on Salernitana’s Serie A midfielder Emil Bohinen. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now and looks set to follow in his father's footsteps with a move to England.

Lars Bohinen played for Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers and now his son appears to be following suit with a move to English football. The Elland Road side are understood to have held talks with the Norwegian back in 2020.

Mateusz Klich's departure to DC United could cause the club to reignite their interest in Bohinen and prevent their Premier League rivals from swooping in one of their previously scouted stars.

US politician among those interested in Leeds takeover

Elsewhere, The Athletic have reported that those interested in contributing to the 49ers Enterprises' potential takeover of Leeds United includes someone from the 'US political scene'.

The investment arm of NFL team the San Francisco 49ers are currently minor shareholders but are reportedly keen to push through a full takeover of the club.

It is also claimed that the after initially considering taking Rutter on a loan deal, it was the willingness of 49ers Enterprises to back a full transfer in the winter window and 'accept future liabilities' that played a key role his arrival at Elland Road.
