Paul Robinson calls for Firpo replacement
Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson has stoked the fire surrounding Matt Targett interest by saying he would be a ‘level above’ Junior Firpo.
“It’s just not worked out for Junior Firpo.” Robinson told MOT Leeds News. “Leeds have conceded far too many goals down the left-hand side, his mistakes have led to goals have been poor and if they are to develop a side, Targett is a player that is at a level who’d improved upon what you’ve got.”

Targett has impressed since moving on-loan to Newcastle in January but they are not guaranteed to sign the former Villa man, with Leeds one of several potential suitors.
Whites face stiff competition for teenage full-back
Leeds United look to be facing stiff competition from Liverpool for long-time target Calvin Ramsay. The 18-year-old Aberdeen star was named SFWA Young Player of the Year this week and has long been on Victor Orta’s list.
But now Liverpool have seemingly swooped in and are ‘hopeful’ of bringing the youngster to Anfield, according to Alan Nixon. Writing on his Patreon, the respected journalist explained that the Reds are confident of being able to attract the right-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold thought to be a helpful presence. Nixon still believes it will cost around £3million, which both sides are happy to pay.
Victor Orta keen on Belgian youngster
Moving abroad, Leeds' Director of Football Victor Orta is thought to be keen on Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin in the summer, according to Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws .
The 21-year-old has already made 62 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium, racking up four goals and nine assists as a box-to-box midfielder. And although this is not a standout return, it is thought that the Belgian is only going to improve over the years. Raskin has reportedly told Standard Liege that he wants to leave, with his contract running out in 2023.
