Leeds United team news as Jesse Marsch's side without key duo

Jesse Marsch has named an unchanged Leeds United starting XI to take on Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium this afternoon. The Whites started the Premier League campaign with a win last week against Wolves and they’ll be keen to build on that with another result on the south coast today.

Marsch has been able to bolster his squad with the return of three players this afternoon and all have been named on the bench. Adam Forshaw and Luis Sinisterra have been named after recovering from the knocks they picked up against Crystal Palace in Perth last month. Sinisterra, who had a hamstring problem, is therefore able to make his competitive debut for the club this afternoon.

Dan James also comes into the squad after completing the ban he was handed following his red card against Chelsea in May. James played a full 90 minutes for the under-21s last week and he’ll be raring to go off the bench.

Skipper Liam Cooper is not involved despite Marsch giving an optimistic update during his press conference on Thursday. Joe Gelhardt also misses out.

Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray drop out of the fold, but should be involved for the U21s on Monday against Norwich City.

Leeds: Illan Meslier; Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Pascal Struijk; Marc Roca, Tyler Adams; Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo, Jack Harrison; Patrick Bamford

Bench: Kristoffer Klaesson, Adam Forshaw, Luis Sinisterra, Dan James, Sam Greenwood, Mateusz Klich, Crysencio Summerville, Cody Drameh, Leo Hjelde
