Leeds United supporters' XI for Man City as Jesse Marsch urged to go all out attack

Leeds United fans have urged Jesse Marsch to go all out attack against Manchester City on Wednesday evening. The Whites are set to host the Premier League champions in their first game following the World Cup break and will need to be at the top of their game to get a result.

While a strong defensive performance is likely to be the key, Leeds supporters have opted for a 4-4-2 formation in the absence of Tyler Adams due to suspension. Starting in goal, Illan Meslier is handed a start despite his struggles with glandular fever in recent weeks, which saw him miss all three friendlies.

It is also the same back four which started the 4-3 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the final game before the break, meaning Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk start. Cooper is one of a number of fitness doubts ahead of the game, but Jesse Marsch was hopeful of his availability in his pre-match press conference.

It is in midfield where the big selection decision is made, with Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca the chosen pairing. As mentioned, Adams is suspended due to his red card at Spurs but despite the availability of Adam Forshaw and Sam Greenwood, it is Aaronson and Roca who get the nod.

That means that all of Crysencio Summerville, Jack Harrison, Rodrigo Moreno and Wilfried Gnonto are handed starts. It is the latter two who are backed to both lead the line, with Summerville on the right and Harrison on the left.
