Leeds United supporters tell Victor Orta what needs to happen with squad amid contracts debate

Leeds United fans have given their plans to chief Victor Orta over the players they'd keep or sell when their contracts run out at the end of the season. A recent Leeds thread on the website Reddit had fans discussing whether they'd keep or sell players like Luke Ayling, Jack Harrison, Rodrigo and captain Liam Cooper with many giving conflicting opinions.

The original post by Whites fan and user 'u/Zach-dalt' consisted of a photo of players with expiring contracts along with the caption "Player contracts expiring over the next 18-months - What needs to be done?"

One user said: "Harrison, [Robin] Koch and maybe [Cody] Drameh are the only ones who feel like they might realistically still be EPL quality in 18 months. Drameh still needs to show more, but his age makes him viable. Possibly [Stuart] Dallas also, but hard to say until we see how his recovery has gone."

Another replied: "Going to be a changing of the guard kind of feel to it I think. Can’t see Drameh staying if Ayling isn’t sold and can’t see Ayling staying if Drameh gets ahead of him. Absolutely gutted that [Mateusz] Klich is going to be leaving soon, it’s not going to get any easier with the rest of the championship team leaving."

A third wrote: "Most of these need extending. Squad is not the biggest, depth is important. While people have their scruples over some of the players, replacing a striker is expensive business and we don't have many. Only ones I can't see being extended is [Diego] Llorente and Drameh. Cooper could be extended if he was willing to play a smaller role, like him but he is not our future in defence."

"Extend Drameh, sell the rest imo," wrote user 'u/leedsunitedlad'. "I like Harrison, but is he getting in over Sini on the left? Don’t think so. However, we can’t trust this board to buy quality players we actually need in specific positions so it’s a catch 22 situation lol."

Another user wrote in response to that fan: "We should be doing what we can to keep Harrison. There's nothing wrong with having more than one quality player at each position, Sinisterra's missed half the season remember. Harrison also needs to be challenged to become more effective on the right hand side."
