Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez helped propel Argentina into the World Cup final with a brace in their 3-0 victory over Croatia on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old has been one of the standout stars at the World Cup, despite not being expected to start for Argentina at the beginning of the tournament. He won the spot kick which opened the scoring when he was deemed to have been upended by Dominik Livaković, before embarking on a mesmerising solo run to double their advantage.
He then doubled his own tally for the evening to add Argentina's third by poking a low Messi cross beyond Livaković, after the seven-time Ballon D'Or winner tied Joško Gvardiol in knots.
Alvarez could very well face Leeds when the Premier League returns later this month, and Whites' supporters have been reacting to his latest World Cup showing on social media.

@Lisa_Bourne: "Glad Alvarez got that goal out of his system before he faces Leeds."
@lufcgrace "Think I'd give my left arm to have Alvarez at Leeds."
@elchewhite "Hopefully Alvarez won't be available for Man City on the 28th."
@GrumpyDad182 "If I'm honest, it's really unfair that Man City have Haaland and Alvarez."
@FJPalacios23 "He was worth 15 million when he was at River Plate 1-2 seasons ago. Leeds should've pounced on that."
