A contingent of Leeds United supporters were left fearing the worst ahead of the Whites' final warm-up game before the Premier League restart. Jesse Marsch named a strong, but young XI to face AS Monaco at Elland Road this evening.
However, supporters were quick to point out the lack of options on the bench with a number of first-team players absent from proceedings. There was no place in the matchday squad for Mateusz Klich, whose time with the Whites looks to be nearing an end.
On a more positive note, Joe Gelhardt started up front for Leeds and was given another opportunity to stake his claim alongside fellow youngster Sam Greenwood. Marsch's side are back in competitive action against Manchester City on December 28th.
