Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked Bruno Lage after their 2-0 defeat to West Ham United. Just one win in 15 games has forced the Molineux hierarchy to pull the trigger on the Portuguese manager after 16 months in charge.
Lage guided Wolves to a top-10 finish in May but cracks appeared to show towards the back end of the campaign. An opening-day defeat to Leeds United set the tone for an underwhelming start to the season, with the Midlanders sitting in 18th after eight games.
Jesse Marsch’s men put a marker down to the rest of the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Elland Road. Since then Wolves’ woes have gone from bad to worse as Lage failed to stop the rot.
