Leeds United have parted company with head coach Jesse Marsch following Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest. The American spent just under a year at the Elland Road helm, but Leeds have chosen to dismiss him with the club on the brink of the relegation zone.
Marsch's Whites have picked up just two wins from their last 17 games and that’s a run of form that culminated in the frustrating 1-0 loss at the City Ground over the weekend. The decision comes just a few days after the closure of the January transfer window in which the Whites brought in four players and invested heavily in the squad.
The United board will begin the search for a new man to take over immediately, with a caretaker boss set to take charge of the club’s game against Manchester United on Wednesday night. Marsch leaves Leeds with the club perched in 17th, precariously close to the drop zone, with must-win games against Everton and Southampton on the horizon.
