Leeds United climbed out of the relegation zone by defeating Southampton 1-0 at Elland Road, and ending their 10-match winless run in the Premier League.
Junior Firpo scored the game's only goal in the 74th minute as his low shot from inside the box crept underneath the body of Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.
Elsewhere, Everton and AFC Bournemouth dropped into the bottom three courtesy of defeats against Aston Villa and Manchester City respectively. West Ham climbed out of the drop zone with a 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest, who also dropped to within four points of the relegation zone.
