Surplus food stock intended for Leeds United’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest will be distributed to Rethink Food. The Whites were due to be in action on Monday night with Jesse Marsch’s side looking to bounce back to winning ways with a performance against the newly promoted Reds at Elland Road.
However, the fixture has been postponed as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Every Premier League and Football League game scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled with games set to be rearranged for a later date.
Leeds have moved to ensure the food ordered for concourses and hospitality in preparation for the sell-out clash will not go to waste, though. The club have donated stock to the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, who have announced they will be giving it to Rethink Food, situated in the White Rose Centre.
