Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has praised both Raphinha and Jack Harrison for their contributions throughout the season. The two wide men were on the scoresheet as Leeds secured their Premier League safety on a dramatic final day.
Raphinha opened the scoring from the spot after he was brought down inside the area by Brentford goalkeeper David Raya. Harrison then netted from the edge of the area in stoppage time to confirm the Whites ’ survival at the expense of Burnley, who were defeated by Newcastle United at Turf Moor.
In a season of struggle for Leeds, Raphinha has often been the man to produce a moment of magic in times of need, though he has struggled to replicate his early season form in the second half of the campaign. Harrison began the season slowly but has scored some vital goals in recent weeks, particularly since the arrival of Jesse Marsch.

Speaking to LUTV after Leeds’ safety was confirmed, Phillips hailed the Whites duo as ‘unbelievable’ and claimed that no one deserved the plaudits of a last-minute goal like Harrison.
He said: “You don’t really realise that when you’re on the pitch, you just want to win. Raph’s been unbelievable ever since he’s come through the door. He’s had a lot of critics over the last few months but his attitude and the way he has stuck at it, the way he has played has been unbelievable and so has Jack.
“Jack’s one of them players that never rests, he always wants to be working on himself, doing something extra to make himself better and there’s nobody else who deserves it more than Jack today.”
