Jesse Marsch has opened up on Raphinha’s impending move from Leeds United to Barcelona. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Whites have accepted a bid thought to be around £50m plus add-ons from the Spanish outfit and the Brazilian will be cleared to make the switch to the Nou Camp imminently
Both Arsenal and Chelsea had shown an interest Raphinha this transfer window, but Barcelona has always been the winger’s preferred destination and it seems one of the summer’s longest running transfer sagas looks set to come to a conclusion. The 25-year-old has spent two years at Elland Road and he played a key role in keeping the club in the Premier League last season, showing heaps of commitment and desire in his performances.
Marsch admits he will be sad to see Raphinha, who hasn’t travelled to Australia with the rest of the squad, leave the club, but he will also be happy for him as he chases his goal of representing the Blaugrana.
