Jesse Marsch has revealed that both Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling are expected to restart training with Leeds United next week. The pair have missed the opening three games of the Premier League season, but fans may not have to wait too much longer before seeing them in the Whites' match day squad once more.
Ayling has been missing since the end of last season after undergoing surgery on a knee issue and consequently missing the entirety of pre-season, while Firpo picked up an injury in the friendly win over Blackpool and hasn’t been seen since. Marsch also hopes to see Mateusz Bogusz restart training this week after overcoming the knee injury he picked up on loan last season.
However, the head coach doesn’t know if Patrick Bamford will be fit enough to be involved this weekend at Brighton and Hove Albion. Bamford picked up a groin issue against Southampton and given his recent injury record, the club are keen to avoid rushing him back into the action.

Marsch insists a final decision will be made on Bamford before Leeds travel to the south coast.
"Junior and Luke, we think that they will be in training next week and potentially with Mateusz Bogusz as well,” Marsch started his pre-match press conference by saying. “Obviously Stuart is a little bit away, but working really hard.
“The big question mark is Patrick Bamford. We think he's doing well and moving forward. I think also with the performances of the team, it allows us to be patient but we will still have a call to make for exactly what it means for this weekend.
“But we want to put him in the best position possible to physically be ready to pick up where he left off.”
