Leeds United have slipped into the bottom three after their 2-2 draw with Brighton following victories for relegation rivals Everton and Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend.
Two stunning goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison saw Javi Gracia's side come from behind on two occasions against Brighton at Elland Road. The home advantage would have no doubt left the Whites with a level of frustration when the full-time whistle blew, but given their opponent's recent form, it can be seen as a point gained rather than two dropped.
However, that would have been a far easier concept to come to terms with had it not been for the results of the teams around them. Following Liverpool's 7-0 demolition of bitter rivals Manchester United, nobody expected Bournemouth to stun Jurgen Klopp's side 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in Saturday's early kick-off.

And there was more heartbreak for Leeds as Everton also managed to win their game 1-0 over Brentford, a side who have proved so hard to beat this season. There was better news elsewhere for the Whites as both Leicester City and Nottingham Forest lost their matches against Chelsea and Tottenham respectively.
In Saturday's late game, Manchester City maintained their title charge as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park to keep the Eagles within four points of Leeds, despite Patrick Vieira's side being as high as 12th place. That was the third game in a row in which Palace did not have a shot on target, a record since the statistic was first recorded more than two decades ago.
If any Leeds fans need any solace after seeing their side slip into the drop zone, Palace have not won in 11 games, Leicester are on a four-game losing streak and Forest have not won in six.
With that in mind, LeedsLive have looked at how the relegation battle currently looks following Saturday's results, as just six points cover the bottom nine teams.
