Leeds United rumours: Raphinha swap stance clear as Whites lead race for Birmingham youngster

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, 31 May 2022.

Raphinha stance

Leeds United are reportedly not interested in the prospect of a swap deal with Barcelona for Raphinha. That is according to Mundo Deportivo, via the Daily Express, who claim that the Whites will stand firm in their valuation and won’t accept any players as part of the deal.

Barcelona were hoping to sign Raphinha in a deal worth £25 million but after Leeds secured their survival, the release clause in his contract no longer exists and they are instead holding out for at least double. Given Barcelona’s dire current financial situation, a deal now appears to be on the rocks despite Raphinha’s desire to make the switch to the Camp Nou.

Hall race

Leeds United are reportedly leading the race for young Birmingham City midfielder George Hall, according to the Daily Mail. Newcastle United and Brighton are also keen on Hall, but is said that the Whites are currently at the front of the queue for his signature.

Hall has been linked with a move to Elland Road for a number of months, with Leeds rumoured to be interested last summer. And Victor Orta is now ‘weighing up’ a seven figure move for the 17-year-old after his breakthrough into the Birmingham first team last season.

Kristensen eyed

Leeds United are plotting another trip back to Austria with an approach for RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen. The Athletic claims the Whites are have identified the 24-year-old as a potential signing this summer.

Kristensen is no stranger to Jesse Marsch, having spent two of his three seasons in Austria, working under the Leeds United boss. The Whites have been quoted a reported asking price of £10million for the Danish international, a considerably lower fee than what Leeds paid for Brenden Aaronson.

Marsch is looking to bolster his entire squad this summer after surviving by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the season. Injury problems blighted the last campaign and they're set to carry on into the 2022/23 season.
