Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Thursday, 25 August 2022.
Hwang interest
Leeds United are reportedly interested in a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-Chan. That is according to Alan Nixon, who claims Leeds are keeping an eye on his situation in the event that Daniel James leaves for Tottenham Hotspur.
Hwang has worked under Jesse Marsch at both RB Salzburg and Leipzig and is said to be a target for Leeds due to his ability to play across the front. The South Korea international only joined Wolves permanently this summer for a fee in the region of £12 million.
Wagner update
Leeds United reportedly remain in talks with Philadelphia Union over the signing of left back Kai Wagner. That is according to journalist Manuel Veth, who claims that the deal is currently a ‘slow process’, with the German also having options from across Europe, including France.

Wagner has been linked with Leeds for a number of weeks now, though despite Junior Firpo’s injury, it appears limited progress has been made. With Firpo now close to returning and Pascal Struijk filling in admirably in his absence, it remains to be seen whether Leeds push the button on a new left back signing.
Cifuentes race
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is reportedly fighting for the signature of Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes. That is according to Colombian outlet La 10, who claim that Brighton are ahead in the race after submitting a bid of €6 million, but Marsch remains keen to bring him to Elland Road.
Cifuentes has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 25 MLS appearances this season and is also an eight-time capped Ecuador international. Brighton could have an advantage in that regard, with Cifuentes’ national team teammates Moises Caicedo and Pervis Estupiñan also currently plying their trade with the Seagulls.
