Leicester City have been linked with both Rafa Benitez and Dean Smith as they continue to search for Brendan Rodgers' replacement following Jesse Marsch's reported snub.
The former Leeds United boss was said to be close to reaching an agreement but informed Leicester on Sunday morning that he would not be taking over following talks with his coaching staff.
Marsch was sacked by Leeds in February following a seven-match winless run in the Premier League. He left the club after less than a year in charge, with Leeds sitting in 17th place, and only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

The Foxes have quickly turned their attention elsewhere, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that negotiations ongoing with Benitez as they try to reach an agreement with the Spaniard.
Benitez, who previously managed Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton in the Premier League, has been out of work since he was relieved of his duties at Goodison Park in January 2022.
The Athletic are also reporting that the Foxes are in 'advanced discussions' to appoint former Aston Villa and Norwich boss Dean Smith until the end of the campaign.
Leicester City have picked up just one-point from their last eight league games, and currently sit in 19th place, and two points adrift of safety.
Rodgers spent over four years at the King Power Stadium and won the FA Cup and FA Community Shield in 2021.
