Leeds United player ratings with Wober and Meslier good in latest Wolves thriller

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Illan Meslier

Will take some criticism for the diving header outside his box which gave Jonny an open goal to aim at, but staying in his box may have led to a one-on-one with the Wolves attacker. Would make some very good stops during the home onslaught down the final half an hour. 7

2 Luke Ayling (c)

Was torn to shreds in the first half by Daniel Podence. His yellow card was a soft one. Improved after the break and popped up in the right place with the goal. 6

5 Robin Koch

Generally kept Raul Jimenez quite quiet. Could have been a fraction more assertive at points. 6

39 Max Wober

Made some big blocks throughout the afternoon. Unlucky to see the hosts' second goal nip in off his heel. 7

3 Junior Firpo

One of those afternoons where he always looked one slip away from multiple yellows. Adama Traore was everything he didn't need down the final stretch of the game. 6

28 Weston McKennie

Did not have the bite or control Leeds needed in the middle. 5

8 Marc Roca

Some decent tackles from Roca, but he played a crucial part in Jonny's long-range effort. 6

11 Jack Harrison

Right place, right time for the crucial opening goal. Given the run around in the first half by Jonny defensively. Battled and was a useful outlet when Leeds needed carriers on the counter late on. 6

7 Brenden Aaronson

Another frustrating afternoon of poor decisions and weak challenges by the American. Needed more from him in the final third. 5

29 Wilfried Gnonto

Quieter in the second half, but showed why he had been so badly missed with his assist for the opening goal. Always a threat and an outlet for the Whites. 6

9 Patrick Bamford

Could see some of that quality he brings as the frontman with his hold-up play and knock-downs, but looked frustrated when his teammates were not on the same wavelength. 6

Substitutes

22 Joel Robles

6 Liam Cooper

10 Crysencio Summerville (on for Aaronson 81min)

Late switch for fresh legs. N/A

19 Rodrigo (on for Bamford 67min)

Did not see a lot of him as Wolves chased the match. Classy finish to kill it at the death. 6

21 Pascal Struijk (on for Firpo 81min)

A crucial replacement for the carded and tiring Firpo. N/A

23 Luis Sinisterra

24 Georginio Rutter

25 Rasmus Kristensen (on for Gnonto 61min)

An instant impact with what proved to be the winning goal. Solid in the five-man backline. 7

63 Archie Gray
