Leeds United player ratings with Llorente dire and the attack blunt in Brentford loss

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Illan Meslier

Some regulation saves throughout the game, but not much he could do about any of Ivan Toney's sublime goals. 6

37 Cody Drameh

One or two naive passes, but generally held his own and looked better than steady once he settled in. 6

5 Robin Koch (c)

Pretty solid in the main as he dealt with Toney on open play, but has to hold his hands up to his part in the third goal right when Leeds had a foothold for an equaliser. 5

14 Diego Llorente

Still committing minor errors and making simple tasks look like climbing Everest. Hugely culpable in the third goal. Bullied by Toney and didn't read the run for the fourth. Pitiful for the fifth goal. 2

21 Pascal Struijk

Looks more and more assured at left-back. Increasingly comfortable and confident in getting forward to dovetail with Jack Harrison. Bryan Mbeumo still got by him a little too easily at points. 6

12 Tyler Adams

Usual level of harassment for the opposition. Got about well and did what he needed to in breaking up play. 6

8 Marc Roca

Lovely passing from deep throughout the game. Still looks like he's going through treacle at times. 6

23 Luis Sinisterra

The penalty will divide opinion, but it was clumsy all the same. Classy finish kept Leeds in the game. Counter-pressing was good too. Just waiting on him lasting a full 90 now. 7

7 Brenden Aaronson

The odd dribble here and there, but no real threat to Brentford's goal. 5

11 Jack Harrison

Saw a lot of possession down the left and even delivered some decent crosses, but hooked at the break. 5

30 Joe Gelhardt

The odd touch of class, but generally smothered by Brentford's defensive line. 5

Substitutes

13 Kristoffer Klaesson

2 Luke Ayling (on for Drameh 70min)

Superb from the moment he came on. Brought the kind of energy and enterprise to the overlap we have barely seen all season from right-back. Really put his hand up for a start against Nottingham Forest. 7

4 Adam Forshaw

6 Liam Cooper

9 Patrick Bamford (on for Harrison h/t)

Transformed the attack with his ability to hold the ball up, but one of the misses of his career from one yard out into an open goal. Rusty otherwise. 5

10 Crysencio Summerville (on for Sinisterra 59min)

Brought some decent trickery and dribbling. Drew fouls. Should have possibly had a penalty, if not a dangerous free-kick. 6

33 Leo Hjelde

42 Sam Greenwood (on for Roca 85min)

Late change. N/A

43 Mateusz Klich (on for Gelhardt 59min)

Did not bring the guile to unlock the hosts. 5
