Leeds United (4-2-3-1)
1 Illan Meslier
Not a huge amount he could do about the home goals, especially the second smashed through a crowd of bodies. Pulled off one excellent save in the first half to deny Marcel Sabitzer and then another to tip over Raphael Varane's header later. 7
2 Luke Ayling (c)
A fantastic performance from the captain. Showed nous and leadership. Big blocks, big tackles and big personality. Had Alejandro Garnacho pocketed. 8
5 Robin Koch
Battled well with Wout Weghorst at the tip of the home attack. Read danger well in some tough moments. Brought Leeds out from the back impressively. 8

39 Max Wober
Deserved to be on the winning team. On a night where Leeds needed to be virtually perfect to come away with anything from Old Trafford, the Austrian was that last line of defence they needed to get them out of deep holes. 9
21 Pascal Struijk
Barely had a quarter of the match before he went down with a blow to the head from a Marcus Rashford shot. Made the challenge which created Wilfried Gnonto's opener. 7
28 Weston McKennie
A very promising full debut. Seemed to enjoy the battle. Got a foot in where it was needed and played some neat, quick passes to get Leeds up the field. 7
12 Tyler Adams
Same as he is every week. Dependable. Battled, disrupted. 7
23 Luis Sinisterra
Barely had a sniff before going off with an injury. N/A
11 Jack Harrison
Better. Looked to have a new lease of life in open space with the ball at his feet. Passing could have been better into Patrick Bamford, but played his part overall. 7
29 Wilfried Gnonto
Picks up where leaves off in every game. If you could predict the kind of goal he would score, this was it. Blistering pace, first touch, dribbling and finishing you can count on every time he gets the ball. 8
9 Patrick Bamford
Put himself about, but still not the game for him to shine. Ball did not stick to him and he had a hard time battling with the cebtre-backs. 6
Substitutes
22 Joel Robles
3 Junior Firpo (on for Struijk 23min)
Very good. There ate not too many tasks tougher in the Premier League than dealing with Rashford at the moment and he, generally, did very well. 7
7 Brenden Aaronson (on for Harrison 63min)
Lively, but no real influence beyond a free-kick off the post. 6
10 Crysencio Summerville (on for Sinisterra 8min)
Somehow squeezed the ball home off Varane. Getting back to his best with each turn from the bench he has. 7
18 Darko Gyabi
24 Georginio Rutter (on for Bamford 63min)
Some decent touches and moments of Rutter which only show there is a player in there waiting to find his feet in Leeds colours. 7
25 Rasmus Kristensen
42 Sam Greenwood (on for McKennie 89min)
Late change to save legs. N/A
49 Mateo Joseph (on for Gnonto 89min)
Late change. N/A
