Leeds United player ratings as Gyabi, Perkins and Joseph show promise in narrow Wolves loss

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

22 Joel Robles

Not too many shots on target from Wolves in the first half, for the efforts they had, but made a very promising stop from close range early in the second half. 7

2 Luke Ayling

Plenty of tackles and interceptions. Did very well at right-back considering he was often left with two attackers to mark. A steady presence in a young team. 7

14 Diego Llorente

Posed a useful threat attacking set-pieces, but defended a little on the edge in the other direction. Struggled with Hwang Hee-chan and had a lot of his shirt at times. 6

33 Leo Hjelde

Solid throughout and didn't let much get by him. 7

3 Junior Firpo

Facing Adama Traore had the hallmarks of his worst nights in Leeds colours, but the left-back did pretty well at Molineux. Some decent stops on the attackers and one or two solid defensive headers from corners. 7

43 Mateusz Klich

Popped up with the odd decent pass, but nothing to really hurt the hosts. 5

18 Darko Gyabi

Caught out of position occasionally, but a generally strong debut from the teenager. Some big, bold tackles which disrupted home attacks. 7

11 Jack Harrison

Excellent free-kick started the game off in the right way and then he delivered a series of quickfire, dangerous corners to keep the pressure on. Didn't quite have the same threat from open play. One or two decent efforts were not far away. 6

16 Sonny Perkins

Caught the eye for all of the right reasons. Popped up in dangerous pockets and had the poise to try things with the ball. Evidently a decent link-up with Mateo Joseph. Promising. 7

49 Mateo Joseph

Could have scored on another night. Always looked at least half a threat to the hosts. Always asking for the ball and had his chances to test the goalkeeper. 7

30 Joe Gelhardt

Like at Brentford, looked crowded out by the defenders when the ball went up in the air towards him. Didn't really get the space or time to work his magic. Understandably looked rusty. 5

Substitutes

13 Kristoffer Klaesson

27 Amari Miller

29 Wilfried Gnonto (on for Perkins 70min)

Hard to repeat the impact of the weekend. 6

38 Alfie McCalmont

42 Sam Greenwood (on for Gelhardt 54min)

Some decent moments with the ball at his feet, but no real impact on the flow of the game. 6

51 Charlie Allen

52 Kris Moore

56 James Debayo

57 Joe Snowdon
