Leeds United player ratings as Forshaw and Bamford shine in essential Norwich win

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Illan Meslier

Distribution was very poor at times. Norwich didn't test him enough. Not a huge amount he could do with the goal from close range. 6

2 Luke Ayling ©

Much, much better at right-back and confidence came pouring back into his game after the goal. Solid. Battled really well deep into the second half. 7

14 Diego Llorente

Battled well with Teemu Pukki. Didn't give him too many sniffs of goal and made some decent interceptions. Guilty of not going with the runner when Kenny McLean ran in for a late tap-in. 6

21 Pascal Struijk

Much like Llorente. Didn't really give much away, but perhaps shone less than the Spaniard. 6

15 Stuart Dallas

Much better, especially in the second half. Had the time against a poor Norwich City side to find those touches which unlocked doors down the left flank. 7

43 Mateusz Klich

Good. Brought solidity and passing to the centre of the field. A far, far better double pivot with him and Adam Forshaw in there. 7

4 Adam Forshaw

So nearly an eight. Read the game well, made the passes he needed to and set Leeds off on some promising attacks. A wise head. 7

10 Raphinha

Threatening to spark into life, but still not quite finding that 10 per cent which buries two goals on another day. Immense composure to find Joe Gelhardt at the death. 7

19 Rodrigo

A much-needed goal for his confidence. Better than Thursday, but didn't set the world alight in the final third. 6

20 Daniel James

Very lively and a day his pace was put to good use. Did not allow Norwich a moment's peace with the ball in their own third. 7

9 Patrick Bamford

A welcome and refreshing return to action. Should have buried his one vs one, but other than that was making the right runs a striker should, opening up space for others, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. All hoping his substitution was pre-planned. 7

Substitutes

13 Kristoffer Klaesson

5 Robin Koch (on for Rodrigo 60min)

Steady, just what the team needed. 6

22 Jack Harrison (on for Bamford h/t)

Very bright and re-energised after midweek. Did not always find the touch or pass he needed to, but brought something to the team at least. 6

26 Lewis Bate

30 Joe Gelhardt (on for Klich 90+2min)

Immense timing and know-how with the winner. 7

35 Charlie Cresswell

38 Crysencio Summerville

42 Sam Greenwood

46 Jamie Shackleton
